From pop-up experiences in cities across the country to classes at her flagship studio in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, Spiked Spin is providing healthy living tools and resources for people to thrive!
On why she chose to launch a cycling business for people of color.
"Spin, to me, is our entry into the wellness space - into the health and fitness landscape. I feel like I can help people become attracted to it because it's rhythmic. My target audience is people of color. It's everyone, to be clear, it's pretty inclusive, but I do it through the lense of people of color because they have lacked the access the longest. And there are so many people who are catering to every other demographic so freely and confidently and they don't make any justifications for that. And I feel like people of color deserve that same experience."
On what PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT means to her.
"I love to hear those words. The first thing that comes to my mind when I say it is Pretty Girl Rock by Keri HIlson. To me, I think everyone is pretty and I feel like it gives working out empowerment. It normalizes sweating, which is something that is not always associated with being a woman and being a girl. It's a dichotomy of two completely different things, pretty girls and sweat, but together it makes so much sense because we need to be encouraging pretty girls to be sweating."
