Sweat Sisters Get Fit + Give Back Virtually At PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT DigiFest 2020

On Saturday, June 20th, sweat sisters across the globe joined us for our first-ever virtual wellness experience, PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT DigiFest 2020. The jam-packed digital fitness party was filled with fun workouts, female DJs, recipe demos, real-talk panel discussions, and virtual networking with fellow sweat sisters and special guests.

The transformational event was hosted by PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT founder Aeshia DeVore Branch and media personality/entrepreneur Christina “Ms. Basketball” Granville. Granville kicked off the event and her infectious energy could be felt through the screen as she welcomed attendees.

To get guests hyped for the day, DJ Milhouse took over and spun tracks from artists ranging from Kirk Franklin to Montell Jordan.

Guests then got a front-row seat to a food demo led by founder of Lucky Lotus Juice, Chantel Jiroch. The juice bar owner guided everyone through making a delicious and beautiful açaí bowl for breakfast.

To start the event’s workout portion, Seviin Yoga’s co-founder Lenaya S. Crawford hosted a Jill Scott vs. Erykah Badu themed Yoga Workout. After the session, guests were able to network with the licensed therapist for a breakout session on mental health.

Performance coach (Lil Nas X is one of her A-list clients) and author KJ Rose then delivered a powerful testimony during her “Bloom Where You’re Planted” workshop. “Sometimes you have to choose courage even when the rest of you has not caught up yet,” Rose told attendees.

Following Rose’s motivational chat, singer, songwriter, and professional dancer Keaira Lashae joined in to conduct her signature “Hip-Hop Tabata” class. Her high-energy moves left attendees chatting about how sweaty they were.

After getting lit and fit with Lashae, guests were able to cool down and participate in a meal prep demo with clinical nutritionist and chef to the stars, Zoë Stuart. Stuart whipped up the perfect after-workout meal, Collard Green Thai Wraps (with Chicken and a Vegan style option).

PGS Founder Aeshia DeVore Branch then hosted the “Motherhood and Movement” panel, a conversation with four inspiring mothers about pregnancy and healthy living. Press play to hear from Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and wellness advocate Melanie Fiona; Chief Marketing Officer at Endeavor – Bozoma Saint John; Celebrity stylist/designer/creative director and author June Ambrose; and entrepreneur, philanthropist, and fitness enthusiast Bo Talley Williams!

Attendees got up and active again when professional dancer and fitness fireball Deja Riley took to the virtual stage for her Out of the Box “Savage (remix)” dance tutorial. For 15 minutes, Riley helped viewers channel their inner Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion with her exciting, body-blasting dance moves.

To close out the day, DJ Dollae spun a medley of tracks ranging from “What’s Poppin” by Jack Harlow to “Don’t Rush” by Young T and Bugsey.

A huge thank you to all of the attendees, speakers, instructors, and DJs, who joined us for the first-ever PGS DigiFest 2020 and helped us fundraise for our nonprofit sweatmakescents.org. Want to be the first to know about events? Subscribe to our newsletter and keep an eye on our schedule.
